Join NOIAW members and friends for this co-sponsored cultural event that integrates and presents three central contexts: gardens, herbs and cuisine. A private tour of the Richmond County Savings Foundation Tuscan Garden -— an exquisite formal garden modeled after the grounds at the Villa Gamberaia in Florence, Italy — will be led by a Snug Harbor Educator.
Skye Suter will present the history and food culture of Mediterranean herbs. Ms. Suter produces her own bi-monthly newsletter “The Herbal Leaf”, on the art of nature, cooking and the green life and can be reached at This email address is being protected from spambots. Rossella Rago, host of the Cooking with Nonna show and author of the “Cooking with Nonna” cookbook will provide a hands-on presentation, emphasizing Italian heritage, culture and language. She will also facilitate an interactive panel discussion. Her maternal Nonna Romano will join Ms. Rago along with nonne (grandmothers) from different regions of Italy who have contributed recipes in the cookbook.
The program will conclude with the opportunity to purchase the cookbook ($30) and a book signing.
Light refreshments will be served.
